Bruins Cake Pops!

Yesterday was a special day for Boston. The Bruins were playing for the Stanley Cup title. In honor of the event, we decided to make cake pops for the first time. Auntie Carolyn introduced us to them months ago and we've been wanting to make them ourselves!

We didn't know we were in for so much mess and fun! Here is the cake all ready to be broken up. We were sort of in disbelief when mommy told us we could just crumble the cake with our hands.

Then, we got to add the frosting and crumble again?! What! We were very excited about this idea!

It's hard work mixing frosting and cake.

Yup, the texture looks about right!

We may or may not have gotten a little bit messy in the process. I insisted on wearing my apron from Nonna!

Now it's time to dip the sticks in the melted candy and put the sticks in the cake balls.

To say things got a little out of control with the frosting would be a bit of an understatement!

But, the end result was so worth it! We made yellow and black cake pops in honor of the Bruins. We did a little toast for the Bruins and then we enjoyed our treat!

We managed to make a few cake pops with B's on them. Go Bruins! Hooray!!!

Making cake pops was a fun but VERY messy experience. But, hey, having the Bruins win made it all worth it :)!

Looks like fun! Someone may have to make a LOT (89 batches???) of cake pops next year!
