Morning in Boston

On Sunday morning, mommy, daddy, Oliver and I headed out on an adventure in Boston. First we went to the North End where we ate breakfast at a really yummy place. Oliver and I split the blueberry pancakes and two orders of sausage. Mommy and daddy had the eggs benedict. Oliver was daddy's big helper making both mommy and daddy's coffee. I wouldn't sit still long enough for mommy and daddy to snap a photo of me while we were waiting for breakfast. And, I dove right into my pancakes so they were gracious enough to hold out on the picture taking until after we finished.

It was a beautiful day so we walked over to Faneuil Hall. It took me a little while to get there and I definitely needed to hold mommy's hand. We made a few stops along the way because I tend to get distracted easily by things such as grass.

Once we got to Faneuil Hall we made a little stop at a bench to take a rest. From there, we decided to walk over to the Boston Commons.

Who knew there was a really fun park with a frog fountain area at the park? Oliver had been asking mommy and daddy over and over if we could go to a park and they did not disappoint. This frog I am standing next to would start spouting water every few minutes and we just thought it was the funniest thing ever!!!

So, after the park we decided to take the underground train (aka the subway). That was something that got Oliver super excited so I'll let him tell you all about that. I didn't really care at that point. I just needed someone to hold me. Once we got to our subway stop we came to another little water area where we could run around with water flowing all around us. Pure joy again!!!

We begged mommy to take off her shoes and join us so she joined us in the water area. We showed her the ropes.

As if we hadn't already had a fun enough day, but we were invited over to Grammi and Dzia Dzia's house for a birthday dinner for mommy. Everyone was there. Daddy helped Dzia Dzia grille up the steaktips and they turned out delicious. Mommy was able to snap a photo of the men while the rest of us were playing in the baby pool.

My cousin Gabriella was there as well. She turned 5 months today and I can't wait until she is walking around with us and we can really play with her. She is so alert. I know she is taking in all the activity and just waiting to be a part of all the action!

Here's the three of us getting our feet wet in the pool and blowing bubbles. Dzia Dzia got a little bit mad at Oliver and Adelaide for picking his quite green cherry tomatoes (hello...I tried to tell them that they were called cherry tomatoes for a reason:) but otherwise we had a really fun afternoon.

After a very delicious dinner, we all sang Happy Birthday to mommy and we had strawberry pie.

And, finally, here I am reflecting on all of the action of the day. Life is good. I wish Oliver would stop annoying me but otherwise, I love my life.

Cape Cod Adventure

On Wednesday we headed down to Cape Cod for a few days to see Nonna and Papa. What a great time we had. When we arrived, Nonna and Papa surprised us with a swing set in their backyard. Oliver and I spent hours playing. We also went to the beach with Nonna. Now, I have to be honest here, I'm not sure how I feel about sand. In fact, I'm not sure that I like it much at all. What this means is that I pretty much just sat myself down and played with whatever I could find around me. I played with the sunblock and my crocs while Oliver explored.

One of the real highlights for me was when we went to the Jamaican buffet because I discovered that I really like the food and the MUSIC!!! I could not control myself and had to sway back and forth and move to the beat. My moves involved all sorts of different things...spinning, swaying, using my hand and even laying on the floor. What a great time!!! I kept on saying, "Do it again!"

While I was on the swings, Papa took Oliver for a bike ride. Papa was bringing the bike back into the garage when I quickly said "My turn next." Did Papa think I was really going to miss this opportunity? Of course not!

In addition to all these fun times, we also went to the library where I found some blocks and started to stack them one on top of the other. Mommy had kind of been waiting for me to do this so today was the day.

These last few pictures are from my photo shoot. Nonna has this wall in her house with pictures of everyone in our family that were taken for her 60th birthday. Well, when those pictures were taken I was not quite born so Nonna borrowed this dress from Auntie Margaret and we finally got a few pictures of me wearing the same dress that Grace and Ryan wore. She's going to put a picture of me on the wall too.

My Brother Loves Me...I knew it!

Today the truth was finally known...My Brother LOVES me! I've known for a long time but he always picks on me, takes my toys and pulls my hair. Basically being a big brother. But today he told me he loved me, he called me Ad and he gave me hugs. I'm so happy. He's the best! Here are some pictures from the rest of our park adventure. They pretty much speak for themselves, but in the next one I am pretending to strut myself. Mommy told me to strut it and I went with it. Hey, I'm only 19 months. This is the best I can do. In other exciting news, my longest sentence is now 8 words long.

Crashing the Little Gym and Going to Parties

So, when Oliver started his class at the Little Gym I was just over a year old. Mommy didn't sign me up so I had to sit in my carseat during the entire time Oliver was playing. Lately, I've been coming out of my seat near the very end of the class to join all the big kids. I have a little bit of a following if I do say so myself. Here is a little girl who chases me everywhere. Then when she does catch up to me she tries to teach me all sorts of things.

Since I only come out to play near the end of the class I usually only get to play with the balls. Still fun!

And last but not least is my other admirer. I'll call him Mr. J for now. He too apparently likes younger women. Mommy caught him sneaking a little kiss on my cheek on the last day of Oliver's class. Jeez! I don't know what's up with these kids. Can't a gal have her space? I did get some very exciting news from mommy. She told me that I am going to be going to my very own class with her in the fall while Oliver is at preschool. I can't wait!!!

Here's a random shot of me. Mommy couldn't get over how big I was getting so she kept taking pictures of me. Whatever makes her happy, right?

I'm trying so hard to protect myself against Oliver here. All I wanted was a hug. I'm sure you can tell by the look on Oliver's face that he is up to no good. This is after our ice cream treat with Jen, Ava and Ryan.

This past weekend we went to a few birthday parties. The first one was for our friend Cameron. His mommy had this really great painting station set up. I LOVED it. Really loved it. I just kept on getting dirtier and dirtier and dirtier. My mom also gave me juice and the rest is history.

Parks, Sleep and New Toy

One of my favorite things to do is go to the park. This past Friday was no exception! Mommy, Oliver and I met Uncle Mike, Gail and Gabriella at Lynch Park for some fun! We climbed all over the playground, we went down the slides, we walked all over and wore ourselves out! Mommy told me that she can't believe how big I am getting. I love to talk on the phone and have conversations. The other day I asked to talk to Grammi and Grammi and I talked away for a good minute or so. I am putting together 6 word sentences and definitely know how to be heard when I need to be.

After our busy day, mommy, Oliver and I were on the couch watching Thomas and Friends AGAIN (seriously Oliver, when are you going to get tired of that show) when next thing you know I was fast asleep. It could have been boredom, it could have been exhaustion, but either way I just couldn't keep my eyes open. Mommy carried me upstairs and the rest is history.

The weather this weekend was not great so on Saturday, after we went to the library mommy told us she had a very special surprise for us. She took us to Toys R Us and said we could each pick out a small toy. This is the first time in a very long time that we got a new toy. It was SO exciting! The first aisle we went down was the Thomas aisle. Oliver had us all fooled because it seemed like he was going to pick a new train. But, he kept looking and finally decided on a Mickey Garage. He made a great choice! He spent hours playing with it. I chose a "diaper bag" for my baby that had a little changing mat, diaper, bottles, wipes and a comb and brush. Mommy took out Oliver's Chris doll so we could have a diaper changing contest.

I love my baby. I named her Moo. She is so much fun. I got Moo from Grammi when I was almost a year old and she sleeps with me every night.

Party and Museum of Science

On Saturday, mommy, Oliver and I went to a party! We went to Auntie Shannon's welcome home cookout. I have to admit that while I enjoyed all the company the definite highlight was the freezer pops. I never knew such deliciousness existed. Truth be told, it felt really great on my gums. I did not have just one, or two, or three, but four....possibly five freezer pops in the span of a few hours. Lorelai, Oliver, Gabriella and I had a good time with each other. I sure do love my cousins!

While at the party I noticed a football on the ground and I picked it up and started throwing it. I looked around for some takers to participate in a game of touch football but everyone was too busy to notice little old me in my bathing suit ready to play a game. Maybe next time!

Dzia Dzia, as always, kept me entertained. He wanted a bite of my freezer pop but I was a little hesitant to share.

At one point during the party Grammi tried to take Gabriella for a walk. But, we all love Grammi so we immediately joined the adventure. I wanted to sit with Gabriella so we could have some "girl talk". To any other observer it would have sounded like babble but Gabriella and I are on the same page!

I love giving my brother hugs. He is the best. I always say "I love you, Oliver." He even ranks higher than ketchup on my list and that say alot. The other day I shocked mommy with my full sentence. I said, "Have some more ketchup please mommy." I also can sing some songs like Choo Choo Soul, Twinkle Twinkle and ABCs. On Sunday we went to mommy's cousin Alison's bridal shower at Aunt Marian's.

On Tuesday, mommy asked us what we wanted to do and Oliver quickly said "Go to the Museum of Science." Mommy decided it was a great idea and off we went. I liked the volcano chute that we could put objects on.

I also liked doing the puzzles although I ALMOST got a time out for standing on my chair. Definite no-no in our family. I'm learning the rules.

Here I am still smiling after Oliver started to take all my blocks. But, I forgive him because he created a masterpiece! My brother is so talented.
