Cape Cod!

On Sunday morning, we took a rode trip to Cape Cod with mommy, daddy, Uncle Dan and Auntie Erin. We had to take two cars so Oliver went with the ladies and I went with the men. just talked to myself the entire time and then fell asleep right before we arrived.

Once we got there, the fun really began, despite cold and overcast weather. We went outside on Nonna and Papa's playground and then daddy took me for a bike ride. Oliver didn't want to go on one but I was up for it! We rode together around the neighborhood.

Nonna had a very important job for us. We made a blueberry-rhubarb pie with her. She is always so great about finding fun projects for us to do. We rolled out the dough and got to mix the sugar in with the fruit.

Doesn't this pie look so delicious?

Before dinner, we went outside and picked some radishes for the salad.

Papa was being really silly! He pushed me on the swing and the way he was doing it, I couldn't stop laughing uncontrollably.

For dinner that night, we had lamb chops, meatballs and fingerling potatoes. I devoured everything!

The next day, Auntie Erin, Nonna and mommy took us to Coonamessett Farm. The weather was chilly! But, we still saw the chickens, played in the play area and had fun running around.

When we got back, Oliver did some gardening with Papa. Oliver really loves gardening.

Then, before dinner, we made rice krispy houses. This type of project required an apron for sure. I was lucky enough to wear the one that Nonna has had since she was little.

Gooey fingers!

Let the house decorating begin!

Auntie Erin and Uncle Dan joined in on the fun.

We also made a paper mache dog with Papa.

Here I am wearing Uncle Dan's sneakers. Did I mention that I love Uncle Dan? He read me books, carried me around and played with me.

We also went to the Heritage Museum and Gardens.

Auntie Erin's mommy and daddy also visited Cape Cod so we spent a lot of time with them too. We had a great time!

I feel really lucky to have my Nonna and Papa! Cape Cod was really fun.

Very Special Visitors!

Last week, we had three very special visitors arrive! Uncle Dan, Auntie Erin and their dog Jules came all the way from San Diego. Before they got here, we were hard at work on a special project. Before you see it, let me just say it was made with a lot of love:)!

Here we are working on it. Oliver was very focused.

I was more focused on figuring out the taste of paint (and being silly of course)!

Here is the end result- a Welcome Uncle Dan and Auntie Erin sign. We weren't sure where to hang it and then we realized that it was too heavy to hang because of the paint. So, we just put it on the table for them when they got here.

Daddy picked them up on Friday and we went to a park that afternoon. Jules and Charley had a great time running around and playing with each other. Well, Jules played with her ball and Charley chased after her!

I brought Auntie Erin a flower.

We spent some time on the playground.

Went to the water for a picture.

Uncle Dan pushed me and all was going well until he gave me a little push and I fell off the swing. In fairness to Uncle Dan, I think I was all done but hadn't told him that. I didn't really fall all that far but it made for a funny little scene.
Oliver decided to push Charley while Uncle Dan was pushing me.

Do you think I love Uncle Dan? I basically followed him everywhere!

When we went down by the water, Jules had a blast chasing after a ball.

Daddy saved the day by getting Jules' ball when it went in the water.

While everyone else was busy playing with the dogs, I decided that I really needed to wash and blow dry my hair. At least, that's what I told mommy when she asked me what I was doing.
After the park, we went back home and mommy made dinner. We all ate dinner together and then our babysitter came and mommy, daddy, Uncle Dan and Auntie Erin walked to a wine bar. We had such a fun day with them! Our adventures were only beginning though.

Hopes and Dreams

Mommy is taking over my blog again...just to give you some warning (seriously, mom, why don't you get your own)!
Adelaide,

The reason why I write this blog and take all of these pictures of you is so that you will have the books that I have made from your blog to look back on your childhood and have all of your memories in one place. Every so often, I think of something that seems like it should come from me and not from "you" :) This is one of those times.

You are a very unique person. Truly unique. You live life according to the Adelaide way and that is one of my very favorite things about you. If you feel like taking your shoes off at the library (or anywhere, really), you do it. If you feel like covering your hands with egg dye, you do it. If you feel like running around naked, you have no fears. You make up stories, you have imaginary friends, you like to be messy. You love to paint, draw and spin in circles until you fall down. There are very few things that truly bother you. You are affectionate, you are trusting and you are smart.

I hope you don't ever change but I know you will! When I think about you getting older (especially because you are a female) there are certain pressures you may face to dress a certain way, have certain friends, do certain things and I know you will have choices to make. You may find yourself dressing that certain way, acting differently around certain friends and making mistakes after doing certain things. But, I want you to know that it is okay. It is okay to make mistakes. It is okay to feel vulnerable because that vulnerability will enable you to grow as a person. It's okay to be uncertain about who you are because that uncertainty will make you insightful and reflective and more compassionate towards other people.

With all that being said, my biggest hope for you is that you are happy and that you feel loved. I hope that you live your life full of joy because you are special and you are unique. You have been given some wonderful gifts and I hope you embrace them and follow YOUR dreams. Your dad and I will support you as long as what you are doing makes you feel fulfilled. This is your life so tackle it head on!

I don't really think I have truly expressed what I hoped to write here but you get the general idea!

Love, Mommy

Random Moments!

This week was a little bit busy for mommy as she finished up school, but we still found some time to have fun!

Here I am playing dress up. I found this little red hat and had a hard time parting with it.

And then I found the chef's outfit and really got into character. I thought hard about what I should make.

There are so many different choices!

I know! I'll just throw something on the grill!

After playing dress up, Oliver and I did some climbing.

What better way to end the day than at the playground on the swings. I think swinging might be one of my favorite things to do. I could sit here for hours!

And then I found some flowers to put in my hair.

Being two years old is pretty wonderful. I spent the afternoon running around barefoot on the grass chasing my brother and picking flowers.

We also got to spend some time with one of mommy's friends who was visiting from California. She and mommy have been friends for a very long time. She is so kind and fun to be around.

Oh, and I almost forgot! Today I went bowling with daddy and Oliver. I was pretty good, if I do say so myself (the bumpers on the side may have helped too)!
