Mr. Snowman

When we returned from Florida, we headed down to Cape Cod to see Nonna and Papa and pick up the pets.  Cape Cod had just been hit with some significant snow so Oliver and Adelaide were very excited to play outside.

Oliver enjoyed making and throwing snowballs.

He also enjoyed making a snow angel.  His face lit up when he looked down and saw the angel that he made.

He threw some more snowballs and was really trying to get Papa!

Adelaide, meanwhile, had a difficult time walking in the snow and got stuck wherever she went.

She also made a snow angel!

Then she got into the snowball making and was determined to surprise Papa by getting him with a snowball.

When she got this close, she was able to hit him.  I'm not so sure he was surprised by her snowball attack!

Chris was busy working on the snowball and had me hold the had of the snowman.  It was actually really heavy.

Finally, the snowman is almost complete.

Frosty 2012 is done!  We made a snowman at the Cape around the same time last year so it was fun to continue the tradition.

Frosty melted the next day when the temperature rose into the 50's.  It's really strange winter weather we are having this year.

Sweet Cali's First Birthday!

On Saturday, we went to my niece Cali's first birthday party!  It's hard to believe that a whole year has already passed since the day she was born.

My sister-in-law did a really nice job with the food and activities for the kiddos!  I could not stop eating one of the dips that she made!  Oliver, Adelaide and Lorelai enjoyed making their own pizzas.

Cousins!

The adorable ice cream cone cupcakes!  From the way Oliver and Adelaide devoured their cupcakes, they must have been delicious!

Adorable Cali who enjoyed eating some of her birthday cake.

If there is food, especially sweets, Oliver and Adelaide are sure to be happy!
It was a wonderful day spent celebrating a sweet little girl!  Happy Birthday Cali!

Disney World- The Last Full Day

Monday was our last full day in Disney World before heading home on Tuesday.  My parents were catching a flight later on in the day but still were able to come with us to Bibbity Boppity Boutique.

To say Adelaide had been looking forward to that day would be a slight understatement.  She has such a shy demeanor around other people, but when we are together she is full of conversation.  Most of our conversations leading up to Monday involved discussing how many more days until she became a princess and what they were going to do to her.  I feel like I should add in here that I did have a slight hesitation at taking my three year old to a boutique which basically turns her into a Toddlers and Tiaras gal.  BUT, I realized that she is only going to be three once, she likes to play dress up and I think the memories from this experience could be really wonderful in the future.  I decided that I was totally okay with her getting the royal treatment for one day while we were in Disney World.  And, truth be told, I loved seeing how excited she was for the whole experience.

We went to the boutique in Downtown Disney.  I had never been there.  They had all sorts of cute shops and a huge Lego store.  In this picture, my parents and the kids are standing among legos.

Adelaide rushed over to the princess the minute she saw her and I grabbed this picture.  We were one of the first appointments of the day which made the boutique seem a bit less crowded.

Once we got inside, they were ready for her AND Oliver.  Yes, we couldn't leave Oliver out.  He was to become a knight!

Oliver was asked what color hair gel he wanted and he chose red, blue and green!  His hair went straight up with no problem.  This is a picture of him covering his face to keep the pixie dust out of his eyes.

Adelaide's getting there!  They started by pulling all of her back.

Oliver's getting the gel applied to his hair.

Time to paint Adelaide's nails!

Oliver is officially a knight for the day!

Once Oliver was done, he went outside with Chris and my dad so that Adelaide could finish becoming a princess.

If I'm being honest here, the only part of the experience that I really had an issue with was when they put a sash on her.  It was a bit much.  The sash didn't stay on for long.

Once we got to the Magic Kingdom, we decided to meet the princesses.

And then attempted to get a group shot before the end of the day.  It was a bit tricky with three kids four and under.

One of the highlights of the day for Oliver was when he went on Splash Mountain with Chris and Uncle Mike.  I was proud of him for giving it a shot.

We really had a wonderful time on vacation.  The kids were wonderful travelers and it was so much fun to go with other people on a vacation like this one.

Disney Vacation- Day Four

On Sunday morning, we went to breakfast at our resort.  I was with Adelaide and when we met Chris and Oliver for breakfast, Oliver told me that he was invited to open up the store at the resort.  He had to go around to a special entrance, through the store and put a key in and open it up.  After he did that, they gave him a Magical Moment certificate with a pin.  He thought it was pretty cool:).

After breakfast, we headed to Animal Kingdom.  I had never been and was excited about our day.  When we arrived, it quickly became obvious that Oliver and Adelaide were cranky and tired.  We headed over to the Safari anyway before the line got too long and really enjoyed it.

After the safari, we all split up for a little bit so that Oliver and Adelaide could have a snack and relax before meeting up again.  It was definitely their tired day.  When we met everyone, we went to a 3D show called It's Tough to Be a Bug.  It was really good!  However, I made the mistake of not telling Oliver that we can't keep the 3D glasses.  At the end of the show, we were being ushered out and were supposed to put our glasses in the bin.  Oliver had a bit of a meltdown.  I think he thought he could keep the glasses, really enjoyed the 3D show and was just overwhelmed.

After a bit, he calmed down and we took them over to the Dig Site which was SO COOL.

My mom, dad, the kids, Chris and I went to The Lion King show which was spectacular.  After we met Mike, Carolyn and Gabriella to watch the parade.

We did a little more seeing characters.

Then headed back to the dig site for some more fun while the guys went to watch the beginning of the Giants game at Rainforest Cafe.

We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe and celebrated sweet Gabriella's 2nd birthday!
