Back to School Cupcakes

Mommy looked online for some back to school cupcakes to make that were different from last year. This past weekend, we decided it was a good time to make them when our apple picking plans changed due to the cloudy weather on Saturday.

We did sneak a few tastes of the batter.

Then we got hard to work mixing the frosting dough to make the apples on the cupcakes.

That part was a little, okay a lot, messier than mommy had anticipated.

Next up was making the leaves for the apples.

The end result.





Did I ever mention how much I love cupcakes? :)

Weekly Recap

Last week went by in a blur. I went to school on Tuesday and Thursday. I really like school. Every day I ask mommy if it is a school day. I am still very shy at school but I enjoy being there!

I also have been spending time at Christine's house. Mommy gets such a kick out of all the stories I tell about the little baby there and Gabriella. I came home one afternoon and told mommy that I really wanted to bring macaroni and cheese and a fruit squeeze up one day because that is what Gabriella had for snack and lunch!

In the afternoons, we started working on some small craft projects, such as this little ghost here.

On Thursday morning, mommy brought us to school and we were silly.

Oliver pretended to hang me on the coat rack.

We also went to mall tots to play on Friday afternoon. It was rainy so I wanted to wear my raincoat.

We had a fun time!

It is no secret that I am very shy in public, especially in new situations. I have been known to avert my eyes when I don't want to make contact.

But, with mommy I can be myself. I am funny, happy and chatty. I especially like to be silly!

First Days of School

I was in for a very special treat this week! I had my very first day of preschool at Harborlight. Mommy asked Nonna if she would take me to her orientation day on Tuesday and, lucky for me, Nonna was happy to come up the night before and take me to my first day of school.

I received a pep talk from Oliver who told me what I should expect in the red room. He told me I'd do great. Off we went to school.

Before we went in, Nonna took a few pictures.

Once we were inside, I followed the red footsteps to my classroom.

When I got inside, I already knew the routine of washing my hands.

After that, the fun really began. Last year, Oliver would walk into the room and go straight for the tables with the different activities like counting and letters. I headed straight for the babies! I spent almost all of my time there.
I did break to do some puzzles!

And look at the class fish.

And then I was back to my corner with the babies!

What I didn't do throughout the day: eat snack or use the potty. I refused to do either one of those things. Nonna joked that it was because I was probably worried that I'd lose my turn with the babies!

Oliver's class got done a bit early and he surprised me downstairs. We ran to each other and hugged and then he took me upstairs.

I got to meet his teacher in the green room!

After an exciting morning, we went with Grammi and Nonna to Friendly's.

What a great day!

On Thursday, I had my first official day and it was by myself! Mommy brought us to school. The night before she explained to me that I needed to use the potty when the teachers told me to, eat snack with everyone and listen to my three teachers. I totally understood and had a really great day.

I went running into school! Really I was just curious if the babies missed me, but still I was excited!


I haven't really talked to anyone yet but mommy gave the teachers the heads up that I am very shy for the first few weeks of meeting new people. I like to take everything in and then I become more outgoing. The teachers said I have had a great two days and I seem to be enjoying myself. And, I used the potty and ate snack on Thursday!
