Disney Vacation- Day Three

On Saturday, we went to the Magic Kingdom.  This was the day that Oliver and Adelaide had been waiting for.  It really is the place to go with little ones.  We could have spent days there without ever really running out of things to do.

Carolyn and I picked up some matching headbands for the girls and they enjoyed wearing them throughout the day.

Before we left, we decided to get some pictures of the kids with Grammi and Dzia Dzia.

And then off to the Magic Kingdom we went.  This was our VERY cold day of the five day trip.  It wasn't as cold as New England but it was cold by Florida standards.  I would guess it was in the mid 50's all morning and then maybe hit low 60's by the afternoon.  We bundled the kids up and headed to our first ride.

We decided to go straight to Buzz Lightyear and did not have to wait in line.  Oliver LOVED it and really enjoyed shooting at all the different aliens.  I thought the pictures they put up on the screen after were classic.

Especially this one.  This one REALLY made me smile.  It just seems like a classic picture for my parents.  I'm guessing my mom is thinking, "Come on Rich, how could you miss that alien?"

We then went to the Monsters Inc. Laugh Factory.  Oliver and Adelaide were checking out Mike's door before the show started.  The show was very entertaining and Carolyn and Gabriella even made it onto the tv screen!

We managed to get a few more pictures with characters.

Chris took Oliver to drive a car which he really enjoyed.

Some more characters.  I had no idea how excited Oliver and Adelaide were going to be to see all the different characters.

I don't have many other pictures from the rest of the day but we did go to the Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan's ride and many others.  For Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan's Ride we got fast passes which worked out great.  The regular lines for them were about 45 minutes which I think was far too long to wait in line for such a short ride.  Oh, I also can't forget to mention It's a Small World which Oliver had been eagerly anticipating going on leading up to the trip.

Near the end of the day, we took some pictures by the castle and then finished up with a snack.  Oliver choked on an orange which was really scary and luckily Chris was able to get it out.  Thank goodness.

After a full day, we headed back to the hotel where we fed the kids dinner and got them ready for the babysitter to arrive.  We had hired a babysitter through Disney to watch the kiddos while the adults went out for dinner and back to the park.  As we were getting ready for the sitter to arrive, Oliver decided to start cleaning his legs with a washcloth(?).  So random.  Anyway, we saw the sitter come to the door and asked Oliver to answer it and he responded, "I have to finish cleaning my legs first."  We had a good laugh.  The sitter worked out really well and off we went for a night out.

First, we went to dinner at the Boardwalk and then we headed back to the Magic Kingdom to do some of the rides we hadn't done yet and also just walk around.

Michael was really quite obsessed, to be honest, with getting a funnel cake so with a little encouragement from all of us, he and Chris FINALLY decided to get one.  The ladies had hot chocolate.
A couple of things I learned from going to Magic Kingdom are: the fast pass is an awesome thing to take advantage of and that you have to take your time and not rush because it can be overwhelming to kids.
